Touring the OKI Lighthouse:

The Oak Island Lighthouse is located on the east side of the island and offers two types of tours - both are free: -
No reservation required tours up to the second level (NOT to the top) are offered every Wed. and Sat. starting Memorial Day through Labor Day from 10am until 2pm.
Visitors can climb just 1 level (12 steps) for anyone age 7 and older where a guide will give you information about the lighthouse and answer any questions you may have -
Tours to the top of the Oak Island Lighthouse (up 131 ships stairs to an outside balcony) are available year round at no charge for climbers 9 and older with AT LEAST 2 weeks advanced notice to set up a new tour.  During the summer tours to the top are only offered on Tuesday and Thursday and under special circumstances on Sundays. Top Tours are not offered on most major holidays (New Year's, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July,  Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.)
